What to Do on a Bachelorette Weekend in Vegas

In 2019, we ran an article titled “From Proposal to I DO, What Happens in Between?” This is indeed a busy and exciting time for any bride-to-be. As that article noted, it consists of planning the venue, choosing bridesmaids, selecting colors and decorations, and of course planning the rehearsal dinner. But somewhere in there, many also have bachelorette parties, and that’s our focus in this piece.

Furthermore, rather than providing yet another list of the best destinations for a bachelorette party (you can find innumerable such articles online), we want to focus in on the most popular option. And according to recent bachelorette destination rankings by Yahoo, that would be Las Vegas.

That’s right! Despite the city’s Hollywood-fueled reputation as something of a “boys’ night out” town, it actually ranks as the most popular spot for both bachelor and bachelorette parties. So for anyone who might be eying this desert entertainment mecca for just such a purpose, we’re diving into some of the most fun things to do there with your best girlfriends….

Play Some Games

We’ll get the obvious out of the way right off the bat: You ought to at least play some games. It is very much the case that Las Vegas is no longer just about casinos. You can spend a whole long weekend there, never touch a poker chip or slot machine lever, and have an absolutely wonderful time. But a lot of the games are fun, and so long as you don’t let them take over the party you should enjoy them together! As to which games to aim for specifically, it really depends on your crowd. But taking over a blackjack table as a group is always fun, and circling around an active craps table is sure to lead to laughs, cheers, and excitement.

Hit the Pools

To lounge at the luxurious, oversized Vegas pools is to spend time “sipping strawberry lemon mojitos in a comfy lounge chair,” typically with all sorts of fun activity going on around you. That’s how it was put in a Poker.org write-up of Vegas activities beyond the poker tables, and frankly it sounds absolutely delightful for a bachelorette group. Different pools have different vibes, to be sure. Some have themed designs, some host daytime DJ raves, and some are a little more relaxing. But in any case, it’s hard to beat laying out with your best friends sipping fruity cocktails and soaking up the sun in luxurious surroundings!

Indulge in Breakfast Buffets

The same list of activities just referenced points Vegas travelers toward breakfast — specifically at Peppermill, a decadent morning restaurant at the north end of the Vegas Strip. That’s a fine suggestion, but we’d also remind you the city is famous for its over-the-top breakfast buffets, which can be just the thing after a long Vegas night. Caesars Palace, the Aria, the Wynn, and the Cosmopolitan are known for some of the best buffets in town, with the “Bacchanal Buffet” at Caesars in particular making for quite the dining experience.

Treat Yourselves at the Spa

As famous as Vegas is for its casinos, pools, restaurants, clubs, and general vibe, its spas may ultimately be its best attractions. To single any out or even provide a list almost seems unfair. The truth is, most of the noteworthy resorts have absolutely exquisite spas fit for royalty. Yes, sessions and treatments can get a little bit expensive, but hey, it’s a bachelorette party in Vegas! If you’re going to treat yourselves, you certainly won’t regret doing so at one of the city’s renowned spas.

See a Show

Our final recommendation is to see a show together, which ultimately is just a fantastic way to create a memory. What kind of show you see depends on the timing of the trip, as well as what your group is into. First and foremost, there are some local productions that are always (or at least usually) going on. A Condé Nast’s list of shows highlights the best of these, from various circus acts, to the Penn and Teller magic show, to the Prince homage “Purple Reign.” Beyond these Vegas staples though, there are also concerts, comedy acts, circus shows, and sporting events passing through town at any given moment. If you can find the right show to see together though, there really is something spectacular about doing it in Vegas.

It may be something of a cliché in the end, but as we hope these recommendations show, a Las Vegas bachelorette party can be quite special. If you end up considering it, we hope this list helps you to start planning!
